New Damietta is a modern and integrated city established by
the New Urban Communities Authority 40 years ago. It is a first-generation city
aiming to provide comprehensive services for new urban and residential
communities. The city is a major tourist attraction and a developmental project
with several ongoing housing and service projects.
The city is north of Damietta Governorate, along the Mediterranean
coast, and 4.5 kilometers from New Damietta Port. The city can be easily
reached through the international coastal road that connects the Arab East and
the Arab West through Sinai. The city covers an area of 12,798 acres, of which
7,960 acres are urbanized. The city is expected to accommodate 500,000
inhabitants.
The city is divided into six neighborhoods, each with six
districts and three industrial, central, and coastal areas. The city offers
different residential units, ranging from premium to social housing, to suit
various needs and preferences. The city also includes many recreational and
entertainment services that provide its residents a modern lifestyle.
